Short-period (4.5 Hz), 2 months-autonomy, light OBS for active seismic imaging
The scientific targets for this equipment are for
- imaging of the superficial structures for structural geology, evaluation of natural resources,
- understanding the relationship between geological structures and earthquakes and slip mode on sub-marine faults,
- understanding the role of fluids in fault behaviors.
Host : IRD/GeoAzur
Compact broadband (120s), long autonomy (1 year), multi-purposes OBS
The equipment is aimed to complement the presently available national pool and allow emerging science to be conducted, like the study of original long-period seismic signatures for transient slow slip and magma migration, noise correlation tomography, oceanic, anthropic and bioacoustics signals.
R&D for Multiparameter Geophysical Ocean Bottom Platform for long-term monitoring
Many processes require the analysis of years-long, high sensitivity, multi-parameters time-series, which remains a challenge for sea floor observation. MARMOR supports R&D support aiming at evaluating technologies to improve data transmission through acoustic transmission or light cable to the sea surface.
Long-term autonomous hydrophones for large-scale hydroacoustic monitoring of the oceans
Monitoring targets include underwater earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, icequakes, sea state or large baleen whales, over large and remote areas of the world ocean and open the perspective of new studies in remote areas.
